Workshop on Conservation Techniques at Tokyo Geidai
In July 2025, I was invited as a Guest Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo Geidai, where I taught the single thread bonding technique under the microscope and introduced materials used for dry cleaning in painting conservation.

Lecture on the Conservation of Artworks at Tomakomai City Museum
At Tomakomai City Museum, I outlined European painting restoration basics, stressing minimal intervention to safeguard artworks. Using case studies, I showcased the mix of science and artistry, linking restoration to cultural heritage and promoting respect for art conservation.

Retouching in the UK
I recently published the second article in my series “Retouching in European Paintings” in Mizunoo, a Japanese magazine on conservation and preservation. This time I looked at the retouching materials used in the UK, from traditional methods on Old Masters to newer approaches for contemporary art—showing how past and present come together in today’s restoration work.
Assistance for the modular cleaning program
I recently assisted with the modular cleaning program led by Chris Stavroudis at the National Museum of Art. I provided English–Japanese interpretation during the hands-on sessions, helping instructors and participants share techniques in artifact cleaning and conservation while bridging the language gap in an international setting.
